The K-278B-1120 is suited for manual fire alarm initiation in commercial, institutional, and light industrial environments. It is typically mounted at exit points, corridors, and stairwells in accordance with NFPA 72 requirements for manual pull station placement. The break-glass design provides a visual tamper indicator, making post-event inspection straightforward for AHJ review and system reset procedures.
Designed as an OEM-style manual initiation device compatible with conventional fire alarm control panel circuits requiring a terminal-connected, single-action pull station.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel circuit before making wiring connections at the terminal block. Mount the pull station at the height specified by NFPA 72 and the local AHJ, typically 42 to 48 inches above finished floor. After installation, perform a full system functional test before returning the panel to service.
