The KIDDE EDWARDS EG4AVWF is a combination horn and strobe notification appliance designed for fire alarm systems. It delivers both audible and visible alert signals in a single unit, reducing installation points while meeting notification requirements. The strobe output is selectable from 15 to 110 candela, allowing field adjustment to match the coverage area and code requirements. The white housing suits commercial interior environments where aesthetics and visibility both matter. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers of this device.
The EG4AVWF is suited for commercial and light industrial fire alarm notification applications including offices, corridors, common areas, and similar occupancies where both audible and visible alarm signals are required. The selectable candela output makes it adaptable to room sizes and ambient light conditions without stocking multiple SKUs. It is sold as a single unit and mounts to standard electrical boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style notification appliance for use with compatible fire alarm control panels and notification appliance circuits in commercial fire alarm systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the notification appliance circuit and confirm the fire alarm control panel is placed in test mode before connecting or disconnecting any device. Mount to a listed electrical backbox of the appropriate depth for the appliance. Verify candela selection and circuit supervision after installation before returning the system to normal operation.
