The KIDDE EDWARDS EG4AVRF is a combination horn and strobe notification appliance designed for fire alarm systems. It delivers both audible and visual alerting in a single unit, with a strobe output range of 15 to 110 candela (cd). The red housing meets standard fire alarm color conventions, making it immediately identifiable in commercial and residential installations. Licensed fire alarm technicians and electrical contractors install this device as part of a code-compliant notification circuit. Its dual-function design reduces the number of devices needed to satisfy both audible and visual notification requirements under NFPA 72.
The EG4AVRF is suited for indoor fire alarm notification applications where both audible and visual alerting are required by code. Typical installations include commercial office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, and multi-family residential properties. It is mounted on a standard electrical backbox and wired into the building fire alarm control panel notification appliance circuit (NAC). The adjustable candela output supports placement flexibility across spaces of varying size and ambient light conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style notification appliance for use on standard fire alarm notification appliance circuits (NAC) in commercial and residential fire alarm systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified electrical contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the notification appliance circuit at the fire alarm control panel before wiring or servicing this device. Mount the unit on a listed electrical backbox at the height required by the authority having jurisdiction. Verify candela output setting and circuit polarity before restoring power and conducting a functional test.
