The KEYSTONE KTEB-242-UV-RS-DW-KIT is a compact electronic fluorescent ballast designed to operate 1 or 2 compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) up to 42W using a rapid start circuit. It runs on a dual-voltage input of 120/277 VAC at 50/60 Hz, making it suitable for both standard and commercial voltage applications. The high power factor (HPF) design delivers a power factor of 0.97 to 0.99 and keeps total harmonic distortion (THD) at or below 15 percent. Ballast factor range of 0.8 to 1.2 gives installers flexibility across light output levels. The unit is UL listed for use in Canada and the United States and is RoHS compliant. It measures 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1.38 inches high and ships with a mounting bracket, wire lead, and hardware included.
This ballast is used in commercial and residential fluorescent lighting fixtures that accept 4-pin T5 compact fluorescent lamps with GX24q, G24q, GR10q, or 2G11 lamp bases. Compatible lamp types include CFTR42W/GX24q, CFTR32W/GX24q, CFQ26W/G24q, CFTR26W/GX24q, FC9T5 22W, CFTR57W/GX24q, FT40W/2G11, FT36W/2G11, FT24W/2G11, CFS28W/GR10q, and FC9T5/FC12T5. Typical install scenarios include troffer retrofits, downlight cans, and task lighting fixtures in commercial office, retail, and institutional environments. The parallel wiring configuration maintains lamp operation if one lamp fails. Licensed electricians handle ballast replacement as part of routine fixture maintenance or lamp-type upgrades.
Compatible lamp types stated by the manufacturer: CFTR42W/GX24q, CFTR32W/GX24q, CFQ26W/G24q, CFTR26W/GX24q, FC9T5 22W, CFTR57W/GX24q, FT40W/2G11, FT36W/2G11, FT24W/2G11, CFS28W/GR10q, and FC9T5/FC12T5. Accepts 4-pin T5 lamp styles. Designed as an OEM-style replacement electronic ballast for fixtures using GX24q, G24q, GR10q, or 2G11 base compact fluorescent lamps.
Ballast replacement is performed by a licensed electrician. Always shut off and lock out the branch circuit breaker before opening the fixture housing and disconnecting the existing ballast. Follow NEC requirements for fixture wiring, and verify that the replacement ballast input voltage matches the branch circuit voltage before energizing. Do not operate the ballast outside its rated lamp type list, as mismatched lamps can trigger end-of-life protection or cause premature ballast failure.
