The KEYSTONE HPS-150X-Q-KIT is a core-and-coil HID ballast kit designed for 150-watt High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamp fixtures. The kit ships complete with a dry film capacitor rated at 14 microfarads (MFD), a pre-wired igniter, a mounting bracket, and all required hardware. The circuit type is HX-HPF, and the ANSI lamp code is S55. Multi-tap input accepts 120, 208, 240, or 277 volts at 60 Hz, making it adaptable across common commercial branch circuit voltages without rewinding. Winding material is copper. Rated for minimum starting temperatures down to -40 degrees C and a capacitor operating limit of 90 degrees C. Insulation class is 180 degrees C. UL listed for both Canada and the United States.
This ballast kit is suited for commercial and industrial HPS lighting installations including parking lot fixtures, area lighting, high-bay warehouse fixtures, and roadway luminaires. The quad, 4-tap configuration is especially useful when a single ballast SKU must cover multiple branch circuit voltages across a facility. Licensed electricians performing HID fixture retrofits, relamps, or full ballast replacements will find the all-in-one kit format reduces staging time by consolidating the capacitor, igniter, and hardware into a single part number.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement ballast kit for 150-watt High Pressure Sodium fixtures using ANSI S55 lamp bases and HX-HPF circuit topology across 120, 208, 240, or 277-volt branch circuits.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the fixture before removing the existing ballast assembly. Verify the tap lead matches the branch circuit voltage before making final connections. Do not energize the ballast without a properly rated lamp and igniter in the circuit, as open-circuit voltage on the igniter output can be hazardous.
