The KEO 955-000-041 is a single-ended spotting drill designed to create accurate center marks and starter holes before finish drilling operations. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 118-degree drill point angle that provides clean, precise contact at the workpiece surface. The cutting diameter is 0.375 inches, with a matching straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.375 inches. At 2 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, this compact tool is suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where controlled spot depth is required. Left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for specific reverse-rotation applications.
This spotting drill is used in general-purpose metalworking and machining environments, including job shops, toolrooms, and production floors. It is intended for use prior to twist drilling to improve hole location accuracy and reduce drill walk. The left-hand cut is particularly useful when working with left-hand spiral end mills or extracting broken fasteners in reverse-rotation setups. It is sold as a single unit and is compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose spotting drill compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank on CNC or manual drilling equipment.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to the equipment manufacturer's specified clamping torque range. Confirm spindle rotation is set to left-hand direction before engaging the workpiece, as this is a left-hand-cut tool and will not cut correctly in standard right-hand rotation.
