The KEO 902-000-052 is a solid pilot counterbore designed for precision counterboring operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool offers good hardness and heat resistance for cutting ferrous and harder materials. It features a 10 mm counterbore diameter, a 4.2 mm standard pilot diameter, and 3 flutes for controlled chip evacuation. The 8 mm shank diameter provides secure clamping in standard tool holders. This counterbore is sized for M5 socket-head cap screws and is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills, drill presses, and manual milling machines.
This counterbore is suited for creating flat-bottomed recesses that allow socket-head cap screw heads to sit flush or below a workpiece surface. It is used in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments where M5 fastener seating is required. The standard pilot follows an existing hole to keep the counterbore concentric. Applications include fixture building, machine assembly, and precision part fabrication where a clean, accurate recess is needed.
Compatible with M5 socket-head cap screws. Designed as an OEM-style solid pilot counterbore for use in standard machining setups requiring a 10 mm counterbore with a 4.2 mm pilot.
This tool is installed by machinists in drill presses, milling machines, or CNC machining centers. Secure the 8 mm shank firmly in a chuck or collet before operation and ensure the workpiece is clamped to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling.
