The KENNAMETAL 7093149 is a CCGT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape with a 7-degree relief angle and a 0.0080-inch (0.20 mm) corner radius, making it well suited for light finishing cuts where tight tolerances and fine surface finish are priorities. The insert is manufactured in grade KCU10B with an AlTiN coating for improved wear resistance and thermal performance at elevated cutting speeds. With two cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it integrates into standard CCGT insert holders used in turning centers across production and job-shop environments. Installation and application are typically handled by machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is used in external and internal turning applications where a sharp, positive-geometry cutting edge is required. The LF chip breaker geometry supports light finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials, producing consistent chip control at reduced depths of cut and feed rates. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
