The KENNAMETAL 7077618 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.500 inch diameter, a 1.000 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The 6-flute, close-pitch geometry combined with a 38-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well suited for dry or semi-dry machining. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments install and run this tool in standard end mill toolholders.
This end mill is built for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials. The extended reach configuration, with a 1.325 inch reach length and 3.000 inch overall length on a 0.500 inch straight cylindrical shank, allows access to features with moderate depth requirements. It is a single-end, centercutting design with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. The submicron carbide grade supports cutting in difficult-to-machine materials where edge stability and wear resistance are critical. It is part of KENNAMETAL Series HA3R, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Suitable for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of KENNAMETAL Series HA3R finishing end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 0.500 inch straight cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge length before tightening. Verify runout after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear on this close-pitch, multi-flute geometry.
