The KENNAMETAL 7036185 is a TNMG432MV KCP25C grade carbide turning insert designed for external and internal material removal on CNC and manual lathes. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN that provides moderate wear resistance and toughness across a range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 22 millimeters in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125 inch corner radius. The KENLOC series MV chip breaker geometry supports both roughing and medium machining operations. Cutting edge style is chamfered and honed with a negative rake angle of 20 degrees. The insert delivers 6 usable cutting edges per unit.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The KCP25C grade is rated for steel (P-class) and aluminum and non-ferrous materials (N-class) where moderate wear resistance combined with toughness is required. The negative side clearance and neutral hand orientation make it compatible with standard TNMG-style toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods. It is commonly used in production machining environments by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians handling medium to heavy material removal passes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for TNMG432MV geometry inserts in KENLOC series and standard TNMG-style toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, negative clearance, and pin or clamp retention. ANSI insert code TNMG432 and ISO insert code TNMG220408 (ISO code TNMG220408MV) are the reference standards for toolholder matching.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Before indexing or replacing inserts, disengage the machine spindle and confirm all axes are locked. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamp or engaging the pin to prevent insert movement under cutting load. Inspect the pocket seating surface and chip breaker clearance before first use to confirm the insert grade and geometry match the intended workpiece material and depth of cut range.
