Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 7026650 is a CNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC and manual turning operations. Running under the KENLOC series, this insert carries a KCP25C grade designation with a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN — a combination that delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 0.7616 inches in length with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0469-inch (3/64 inch) corner radius. It features a negative rake, zero-degree clearance (N-tolerance, M-tolerance code), and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. Four usable cutting edges are available per insert.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The RN chip breaker geometry and chamfered-honed edge prep make it a practical choice for medium-duty roughing and semi-finishing passes. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a wide range of toolholder setups. It is held by clamp and pin methods and is compatible with standard KENLOC toolholders designed for CNMG insert geometry. Maximum depth of cut is 0.2536 inches. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code CNMG190612RN.

Key Features

  • KCP25C carbide grade with multilayer CVD TiN/Al2O3/TiCN coating for extended tool life on steel and cast iron
  • Diamond (80-degree included angle) CNMG insert shape with negative rake for strong cutting edge
  • RN chip breaker geometry suited for turning, facing, and boring
  • Four cutting edges per insert maximize cost-per-edge value
  • Chamfered and honed cutting edge style reduces edge chipping on interrupted or intermittent cuts
  • Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards (ISO code: CNMG190612RN)

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders that accept CNMG643 geometry inserts with clamp and pin holding. Rated for primary workpiece materials steel (P) and cast iron (K). Multi-use application across turning, facing, and boring operations.

Installation Notes

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully stopped and in a locked-out, de-energized state. Seat the insert fully against the pocket before engaging the clamp and pin; an improperly seated insert can shift under cutting load and cause tool failure or workpiece damage. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each index. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications for the KENLOC system.
