The KENNAMETAL 7026599 is a CNMG432RN indexable turning insert manufactured in the KENLOC series and graded KCP25C. It features a diamond-shaped (80-degree included angle) carbide substrate with a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiCN and Al2O3, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert carries a neutral hand orientation, a chamfered and honed cutting edge, and an RN chip breaker geometry. With four usable cutting edges and a 0.0313-inch corner radius, it balances edge strength with surface finish capability across a broad range of cutting conditions. Weight is 0.03 pounds.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and K. It is used in production and job-shop CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent tool life and predictable chip control are required. The negative rake geometry and CNMG form factor make it appropriate for moderate to heavy depths of cut in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders and other CNMG-style insert pockets that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, CNMG432 form-factor insert secured by clamp or pin holding methods. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel and cast iron (ISO P and K material groups).
Insert seating and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state before any toolholder access. Verify the insert pocket and clamping components are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Confirm the correct torque specification for the clamp screw is obtained from the toolholder manufacturer documentation, as it is not provided here. Inspect the seating surface and cutting edge condition each time the insert is indexed.
