Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 7026566 is a TCMT2152MF triangular carbide turning insert with KCP25C grade and a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN. It carries a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With a 1/4-inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle, an 11 mm (0.4331 inch) insert length, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313 inch) corner radius, this insert is sized for light to medium material removal. Three cutting edges are available per insert. It is held in place by a screw-on method and is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations performed by machinists and CNC lathe operators.

This insert is suited for finishing and medium machining passes on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and N. The KCP25C grade delivers moderate wear resistance combined with moderate to high toughness, making it appropriate for stable cutting conditions as well as applications where some interrupted cutting or variation in stock condition is expected. The MF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at lighter depths of cut up to 0.1442 inch.

Key Features

  • KCP25C grade with multilayer CVD coating: TiN outer layer, Al2O3 mid-layer, TiCN base layer for thermal and wear resistance
  • Triangular TCMT insert shape with 60-degree included angle and positive side clearance
  • MF chip breaker optimized for finishing and medium machining operations
  • Three usable cutting edges per insert via screw-on holding method
  • Neutral hand orientation compatible with standard TCMT toolholders
  • Suitable for turning, facing, and boring on steel and cast iron

Compatibility

Designed for use in screw-on TCMT-style toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch inscribed circle triangular insert. Conforms to ANSI insert code TCMT2152 and ISO insert code TCMT110208. Compatible with applications targeting steel (ISO P) and aluminum and non-ferrous (ISO N) workpiece materials.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder seat without overtightening, as carbide inserts are brittle and susceptible to fracture under excessive clamp force. Verify insert seating and edge condition visually before resuming cuts.
