The KENNAMETAL 7026535 is a CCMT3252MF-style carbide turning insert graded KCP25C and designed for precision metal cutting in turning, facing, and boring operations. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) over a carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The diamond-shaped insert (80-degree included angle) carries a neutral hand orientation, a 0.0313-inch corner radius, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style for controlled chip formation. Each insert provides 2 cutting edges and mounts via screw-on holding method.
This insert is suited for machining steel and cast iron in production turning environments. Typical applications include external turning, facing passes, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-finish cuts, reducing cutting forces and promoting consistent chip evacuation. The KCP25C grade targets ISO material groups P (steel) and K (cast iron), making it a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material work.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on replacement insert for CCMT-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Industry standard number CCMT3252MF; ISO code CCMT09T308MF. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards. Suitable for multi-use turning, facing, and boring applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
