The KENNAMETAL 7026531 is a CCMT32505FP carbide turning insert finished in a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN under the KCP25C grade designation. It features a diamond insert shape with an 80-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive 15-degree rake angle. The insert measures 0.3808 inches in length with a 0.375-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0079-inch corner radius. The FP chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style are suited to productive material removal in steel and cast iron turning applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in screw-on toolholders on lathes and turning centers.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. Its CVD multilayer coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts at moderate to high cutting speeds. The 7-degree relief angle and positive rake geometry reduce cutting forces, making the insert well suited to both roughing and semi-finish passes on general-purpose CNC lathes. Two usable cutting edges are available per insert, supporting cost-effective tool management in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on replacement insert for CCMT-pocket toolholders; the industry-standard insert designation is CCMT32505FP and the ISO code is CCMT09T302FP, which can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder systems. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using a calibrated torque wrench. Inspect the pocket seating surface and shim for damage before installing a new insert to avoid premature edge failure.
