The KENNAMETAL 7026431 is a SNMG322MN square carbide turning insert in the KCP25C grade, designed for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. The insert carries a multilayer CVD coating - TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN - that provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of cutting conditions. With a negative rake angle and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert delivers controlled chip formation and edge strength. The KENLOC series clamp-and-pin holding method locks the insert securely in the toolholder during interrupted and continuous cuts. Eight usable cutting edges extend service life per box of inserts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install and index this insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material groups P and K. The SNMG322MN geometry with the MN chip breaker is intended for light to moderate depths of cut up to 0.1249 inches. It performs in both roughing passes at conservative feeds and finishing passes where edge consistency matters. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for the SNMG insert style, making it directly compatible with any SNMG-format toolholder or turret pocket designed for that industry-standard geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style fit for SNMG-format toolholders and turret pockets conforming to ANSI and ISO SNMG090308MN standards. Compatible with clamp-and-pin style KENLOC toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle square insert with a 0.1500-inch hole diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K).
Installation and indexing should be performed by a licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator with the machine in a full stop, spindle off, and coolant flow disabled. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamp screw torque as specified by the toolholder manufacturer documentation - do not estimate clamp torque. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamp for chips or debris before seating a new edge. Confirm insert orientation matches the required hand and rake direction for the operation before resuming the cut.
