The KENNAMETAL 7026401 is a CNMG432MN carbide turning insert with KCP25C grade and a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, Al2O3, and TiCN. The diamond-shaped (80-degree included angle) insert carries a negative rake geometry and a chamfered and honed cutting edge. It measures 12.9 mm (0.5077 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. With four available cutting edges and a 3/16-inch thickness, it delivers efficient material removal in both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals install this insert as part of the KENLOC series tooling system.
This insert is rated for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. It is suited for both general-purpose production turning and applications requiring consistent surface finish across multiple cutting edges. The MN chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip flow during medium-duty cuts on ferrous materials. A maximum depth of cut of 0.1691 inches supports a range of material removal strategies common in job shop and production floor environments.

Installation is performed by machinists or CNC technicians following standard indexable insert procedures. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured in the turret before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can chip the insert or damage the seat. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for chips or debris before seating a new cutting edge.
