The KENNAMETAL 7026371 is a TNMG331FN-style triangular carbide turning insert in the KCP25C grade, designed for high-productivity metal removal on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 over a carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of cutting conditions. With 6 cutting edges, a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0156 inch corner radius, this insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations. The FN chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip flow at moderate feed rates. Negative rake geometry and a honed cutting edge contribute to edge strength during interrupted and continuous cuts.
This insert is intended for use on steel and cast iron workpieces in both roughing and finishing applications. It fits KENLOC-style toolholders that accept TNMG-format inserts held by clamp and pin. Typical install environments include production turning cells, job shop lathes, and CNC machining centers where consistent tool life and reliable chip control are required. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling ferrous materials will find this insert suitable for general-purpose turning programs across both light and moderate depths of cut.
Designed for KENLOC-style toolholders accepting TNMG-format inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. Industry standard number TNMG331FN and ISO code TNMG160404FN apply. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down or e-stop the machine and ensure the spindle is fully stopped before seating or indexing inserts. Use the correct clamp and pin hardware specified for the KENLOC toolholder to achieve proper seating and clamping force. Never use damaged or incomplete seating pockets, as improper clamping can cause insert breakage and workpiece damage.
