The KENNAMETAL 7026362 is a DNMG331FN carbide turning insert in the KCP25C grade, designed for general-purpose single-point turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 that provides thermal resistance and wear protection during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert has a neutral hand orientation, a 55-degree diamond shape, and a honed cutting edge style with a 0.0156-inch corner radius. With four available cutting edges per insert, it delivers consistent tool life and cost efficiency in production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production facilities are the primary installers of this tooling.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications on steel and cast iron workpieces. The KENLOC series geometry and FN chip breaker design work together to control chip flow across a range of depths of cut. It performs in both roughing and semi-finishing passes, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.3049 inches. The KCP25C grade is positioned for P and K material groups per ISO classification, making it a versatile choice across ferrous alloy families in medium to high-production settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for DNMG331FN (ISO: DNMG110404FN) carbide turning inserts. Compatible with standard DNMG toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods. Meets ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by a licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can seat or chip the insert incorrectly. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, wear, or damage before seating a new insert.
