The KENNAMETAL 6769718 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the H1TE series platform, it features a 0.7874-inch (20 mm) mill diameter and a matching 0.7874-inch shank, making it a direct-fit single-end tool for standard toolholders. The four-flute spiral geometry runs with a variable helix angle of 36 to 39 degrees and variable index spacing, both of which work together to reduce chatter and improve surface finish at aggressive feed rates. An AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life when cutting through tough workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators working in production environments will find this end mill suited for continuous or interrupted cuts in hard-to-machine metals.
This end mill is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The tool provides a 26 mm (approximately 1.02 inches) length of cut and an overall length of 92 mm (approximately 3.62 inches). It does not include through-coolant capability, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the standard approach on compatible CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 0.7874-inch (20 mm) shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials (ISO groups P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify toolholder runout is within acceptable tolerance before engaging the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Do not exceed the recommended length of cut of 26 mm to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
