The KENNAMETAL 6764491 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the KOR5 series, designed for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 1-inch diameter, 5-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN PVD coating provides high-temperature resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. With five right-hand flutes and a high helix angle, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish control in deep-pocket and long-reach applications.
This end mill is built for heavy-duty machining environments where extra-long reach is required. The 7.5-inch overall length and 1-inch Weldon flat shank support secure toolholder engagement in vertical machining centers and similar setups. Its normal pitch geometry and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on CNC equipment. Coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid delivery directly to the cutting edge, which is especially valuable when machining superalloys, titanium, and hardened steels where heat buildup accelerates tool wear. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in precision manufacturing, job shop, aerospace, and die-mold applications.
Designed for use with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholders per manufacturer specifications. Suitable for CNC machining applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials up to the rated hardness range of the KOR5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC toolholder setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is placed in an e-stop or lockout condition before changing or inspecting tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into a compatible toolholder and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the extra-long reach of this tool.
