The KENNAMETAL 6756003 is a solid carbide turning insert carrying the ANSI designation CNGG431FS and ISO designation CNGG120404FS, coated with AlTiN via a PVD process under the KCS10B grade. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a negative rake angle of 12 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style suited to finishing operations. With four usable cutting edges, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0156-inch corner radius, it is engineered for high wear-resistance across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloy workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists select this insert for precision finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional control are the priority.
This insert is part of the KENNAMETAL KENLOC series and is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications. Its primary workpiece material classifications span P, M, K, N, S, and H material codes, making it applicable to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, superalloys, and hardened materials. The FS chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, and the negative side clearance geometry provides a robust edge suited to rigid insert-holding setups using clamp and pin methods. Maximum depth of cut is 0.1691 inches, keeping the insert in its intended light-to-moderate material removal range.
Designed for use in CNGG-style insert toolholders that accept a 431 ANSI size code (ISO size code 120404) with clamp and pin holding. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards for drop-in replacement in any compliant holder geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp or pin to prevent micromovement during cutting. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or wear debris that could affect seating; a contaminated pocket will compromise edge life and surface finish.
