The KENNAMETAL 6754923 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Part of the KOR5 series, it features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, five flutes, and a 35-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in gummy, ductile materials. The chipbreaker geometry reduces cutting forces and helps control chip length during aggressive cuts. This end mill is single-end and right-hand cutting with a right-hand spiral flute direction, making it a standard configuration for CNC machining centers and manual mills used in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and CNC programmers working with aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous alloys will find this tool well-suited to finishing and semi-finishing operations.
The 6754923 is intended for use in aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials, designated under material code N. Its 1-1/2 inch length of cut (LOC) and 3-1/2 inch overall length (OAL) make it suitable for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in both production and prototype machining environments. The bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for aluminum applications where coating adhesion to chips can be a concern. It is centercut capable, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed for use in aluminum and non-ferrous materials (material code N). Fits standard 1/2 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool runout tolerances and toolholder clamping procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Use a calibrated torque wrench on collet nuts per the toolholder manufacturer specifications, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity level.
