The KENNAMETAL 6677038 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the H1TE series specification, it carries a 3/8 inch diameter with a 7/8 inch length of cut and a 45-degree chamfer angle at a 0.0200 inch chamfer width. The four-flute, variable-helix geometry with variable index reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. An AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life in high-heat applications including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running production milling operations on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is built for use on ferrous and hard materials across both roughing and finishing passes. Approved operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end mill holders. It is well suited to job shop and production environments working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials classified under material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 3/8 inch Weldon flat shank tooling. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Kennametal catalog number H1TE4CH0375R088HB is the associated catalog reference for this tool.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and engage the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut combination.
