The KENNAMETAL 6677035 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to the H1TE series specification, it features a 1-inch mill diameter, 4-inch length of cut, and 7-inch overall length with a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The four-flute geometry runs a variable helix in the 36 to 39 degree range and a variable index pitch, reducing harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. An AlTiN PVD coating delivers thermal and oxidation resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The 45-degree chamfer at 0.0200 inches width breaks edges cleanly in a single pass. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Rated application operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill-mill use, and plunging and recessing. The center-cutting geometry permits direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, making it practical for 3- and 5-axis machining centers running continuous or interrupted cuts across a wide range of workpiece hardness levels.
Designed for use in standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 1-inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Catalog reference number H1TE4CH1000X400HA is noted by the manufacturer for cross-reference purposes.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists following shop safety protocols and machine-tool manufacturer guidelines. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or hydraulic tool holder to the holder's specified engagement depth before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the manufacturer's cutting data recommendations for the target workpiece material and coating class. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external flood or mist coolant as appropriate for the material being cut.
