The KENNAMETAL 6677006 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for demanding metal removal in production machining environments. It carries a 5/8 inch diameter with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and a 3-1/2 inch overall length, making it well suited for regular-reach applications. The 45-degree chamfer angle and 0.0200 inch chamfer width produce clean, consistent edge breaks on finish and semi-finish passes. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool is centercutting and handles both roughing and finishing operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in shop and production settings.
The 6677006 is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard materials. It supports shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank at 5/8 inch diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. Material grade KCPM15 and the H1TE series designation identify the substrate and geometry family within the KENNAMETAL line.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers with 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials. Also identified by manufacturer catalog number H1TE4CH0625R125HA within the H1TE series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is cleared before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank to the specified clamping torque of the toolholder manufacturer and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external flood or mist coolant as required by the workpiece material.
