The KENNAMETAL 6676990 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the H1TE series specification, this single-end tool features a 3/16 inch diameter, a 5/16 inch length of cut, and four variable-helix, variable-index flutes with an AlTiN PVD coating. The 45-degree chamfer angle and 0.0150 inch chamfer width make it well suited for edge preparation and chamfering operations. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet and end mill holders. Material grade KCPM15 provides the hardness and thermal resistance needed for extended tool life in difficult-to-machine alloys. Centercutting capability supports plunging and helical interpolation entry strategies without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is well suited for CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments where a single tool must handle shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill-mill operations, and plunging and recessing in one setup. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish across this broad range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers with standard 3/16 inch collet or end mill holder tooling. Suitable for workpiece materials classified under ISO P, M, K, S, and H groups including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Manufacturer catalog number H1TE4CH0188S031HA.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended gauge line depth and verify runout before cutting. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the workpiece. Follow machine builder and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
