The KENNAMETAL 6676941 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a 0.5-inch shank. The tool carries an AlTiN coating and runs on a 360-degree variable helix geometry, which reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation in difficult materials. Four spiral flutes with variable index spacing deliver consistent surface finish and tool life. The KCPM15 material grade is a fine-grain carbide substrate suited for high-heat cutting environments. It is single-end, center-cutting, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute — standard configuration for vertical and horizontal CNC milling operations.
This end mill is designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The H1TE series targets shops running aggressive parameters in aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining. The variable helix and variable index design make it especially effective in thin-wall and difficult-to-hold workpiece situations where harmonics are a concern. The neck length of approximately 2.35 inches allows access in moderate-depth cavities without extended-reach tooling.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers running the H1TE series. Suitable for ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the tool holder bore and collet are clean and within tolerance before seating the shank to the correct gauge length. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended runout tolerances, as excess runout accelerates flute wear on variable-helix geometry tools.
