The KENNAMETAL 6676929 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, 1-inch length of cut, and 0.5-inch shank diameter, this single-end mill delivers precise, repeatable results in production environments. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and abrasive materials. The 360-degree variable helix geometry — ranging from 36 to 39 degrees — reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. Rated under material grade KCPM15, it is engineered for aggressive feeds and speeds in both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials — covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it practical for interpolated pocketing and ramping operations. With right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes, it is compatible with standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The H1TE series geometry is targeted at shops running tight-tolerance work in aerospace, die-mold, and general precision machining. The 3-inch overall length fits standard tool holders without extended-reach adapters in most setups.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers with standard 0.5-inch toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials as identified by ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a calibrated toolholder with proper runout tolerance — excessive runout accelerates flute wear and reduces tool life. Follow shop-standard torque procedures for collet or hydraulic chuck engagement; do not exceed holder manufacturer specifications.
