The KENNAMETAL 6676928 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the H1TE series platform, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length with a 0.5 inch shank. The variable helix angle of 36 to 39 degrees reduces harmonic chatter and improves surface finish during aggressive cuts. An AlTiN coating boosts heat resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The center-cutting geometry allows for direct plunging, and the right-hand flute and cutting direction suit standard CNC mill setups. Material grade KCPM15 provides the substrate toughness needed for interrupted cuts and hard workpieces.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials across ISO material classes P, M, K, S, and H. It is a single-end tool intended for use in production machining, tool rooms, and job shop environments where close-tolerance milling of ferrous and exotic alloys is required. The regular length classification and 1.025 inch neck length make it compatible with standard toolholders in both vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The KENNAMETAL 6676928 is designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. It is part of the H1TE series and is engineered for use in standard CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers with toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.5 inch shank to maintain runout specifications. Follow your machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and depth of cut parameters.
