The KENNAMETAL 6676927 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the H1TE series specification, it features a 7/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute geometry with a 360-degree variable helix angle ranging from 36 to 39 degrees. The variable helix and variable index design reduce harmonic vibration, enabling more stable cuts at higher feeds. An AlTiN coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, suitable for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The 6676927 is designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills working in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The KCPM15 material grade, combined with AlTiN finish, makes this end mill well suited for shops running ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It performs in both roughing and finishing passes where tool stability and heat resistance are critical. The regular-length classification and 7/16 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER and straight-bore collet systems commonly found in production environments.
Designed for use in steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), high-temperature alloys (ISO S), and hardened materials (ISO H) per the KCPM15 grade designation and H1TE series specification. No additional specific machine or holder compatibility data was provided in the product input.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate shank engagement per toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, particularly given the variable helix geometry. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and consult the KENNAMETAL H1TE series application data for recommended cutting parameters.
