The KENNAMETAL 6676526 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is single-end, centercutting, and carries a Weldon flat shank for positive drive in compatible toolholders. It belongs to Kennametal's H1TE series and is ground from submicron carbide substrate for added edge integrity.
This end mill is engineered for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments. Compatible toolholding systems listed by the manufacturer include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A holders. The short flute length and rigid 3/4-inch shank diameter make it well suited to slotting, profiling, and contouring cuts where vibration control is a priority.
Compatible toolholding systems specified by the manufacturer include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A holders. Designed for use on CNC milling machines requiring a 3/4-inch shank. Primary workpiece material groups include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change procedure follows the machine builder's lockout requirements before installing or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat securely against the set screw in the toolholder to the manufacturer's specified torque for that holder type. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before initiating a cutting program, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
