The KENNAMETAL 6676510 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating improves heat resistance and wear performance at elevated cutting temperatures. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a normal pitch configuration, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both roughing and finishing operations. It belongs to the H1TE series and is built from submicron carbide grade stock. Machinists and CNC tooling professionals install this tool in milling centers where tight tolerances and surface finish requirements demand consistent edge geometry.
The 6676510 is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its long-length geometry (4 inch overall length, 2 inch length of cut) makes it well-suited for deep-cavity milling, shoulder milling, and profile contouring where standard-length end mills lack sufficient reach. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure, anti-pullout connection in ER or side-lock toolholders. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish.
