The KENNAMETAL 6676509 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool-workpiece interface and extends tool life in aggressive operations. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides elevated heat resistance and hardness, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. With four right-hand spiral flutes and a 36-degree helix angle, this end mill promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. It is centercutting and single-end, fitting standard CNC machining center toolholders with a Weldon flat shank.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The H1TE series designation identifies it as a long-flute geometry suited for applications where extended reach or deep pocket milling is required. It is a practical choice for job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms running ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC operators working with vertical or horizontal machining centers, milling machines, or multi-axis platforms.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct selection within the KENNAMETAL H1TE series for 1/2 inch shank milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Confirm the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the setscrew in the toolholder to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before beginning any cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
