The KENNAMETAL 6676508 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 36-degree helix angle, it is suited for both roughing and finishing operations. A licensed machinist or CNC operator installs and runs this tool in a machining center or manual mill.
This end mill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. The Weldon flat shank provides positive retention in set-screw style toolholders, making it appropriate for high-feed or interrupted-cut applications where pull-out is a concern. It belongs to the H1TE series and is rated for use with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Applications span aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining where corner geometry control and surface finish consistency are required.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder bore are clean and free of chips or debris. Torque the Weldon flat set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification - do not substitute a standard collet holder for this shank style without confirming bore compatibility. Confirm runout at the cutting edge after installation before engaging the workpiece, particularly when machining hardened or abrasive materials.
