The KENNAMETAL 6676501 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the H1TE series platform, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 36-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection during aggressive cutting operations. With a short-length flute geometry and Weldon flat shank, it is suited for stable, high-rigidity setups in CNC milling applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with hard-to-machine alloys rely on this geometry for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The submicron carbide grade supports cutting in high-hardness workpieces where edge toughness and thermal stability are critical. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the toolholder before tightening set screws to manufacturer torque specifications for the holder in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly when machining tight-tolerance features in hard alloys.
