The KENNAMETAL 6676498 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It features a 0.5 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, 4 right-hand spiral flutes, and an AlTiN PVD coating that improves heat resistance and tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make this a short-series tool suited for rigid setups. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, and the Weldon flat shank provides positive drive in collet or end mill holders. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in job shops and production environments rely on tools in this class for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits applications where a sharp corner must be relieved to reduce stress concentration or where a defined radius is required on a shoulder or floor feature. The H1TE series from KENNAMETAL is built around submicron carbide grade material for consistent performance in high-speed and high-feed programs on CNC machining centers. It is compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems as specified by the manufacturer.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems per manufacturer data. Designed for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the flat - do not tighten against the round shank surface. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excess runout accelerates flute wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
