The KENNAMETAL 6676497 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to the H1TE series standard, it features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch length of cut, this single-end centercutting tool handles plunge entry and full-profile milling without a separate spot operation. A Weldon flat shank ensures positive retention in standard end mill holders. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing facilities will recognize this as a production-grade tool for tight-tolerance work.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The AlTiN coating and submicron carbide grade make it particularly effective when cutting hardened steels and high-temperature alloys where uncoated or TiN-coated tools fall short. Normal pitch fluting and a 36-degree helix angle provide chip clearance and surface finish quality suited for finish passes as well as aggressive stock removal. It is compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems.
Designed for use with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Shank diameter is 0.5 inches, fitting standard 1/2-inch end mill holders and collet chucks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path is verified before engaging the cut. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production use to protect edge integrity on the corner radius.
