The KENNAMETAL 6676460 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted cuts. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides high-temperature hardness and oxidation resistance, making it effective in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a normal pitch, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production environments will find this a capable general-purpose carbide end mill in the H1TE series.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank is compatible with KENNAMETAL HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-HSK Form A toolholders as specified by the manufacturer. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its utility in pocketing and slotting applications.
Compatible with KENNAMETAL HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-HSK Form A toolholders. Intended for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard material).
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before tool changes, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide end mill.
