The KENNAMETAL 6676456 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in ferrous and high-hardness materials. Built to the H1TE series standard, it features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 36-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, this is a short-length tool configured for rigidity. It is centercutting and rated for both roughing and finishing operations. Installation and operation are handled by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The 6676456 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and high-feed passes. The straight cylindrical shank at 3/4 inch diameter fits standard end mill holders, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit tooling. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on hardened workpieces in aerospace, die-and-mold, and general machining environments. The normal pitch and fixed helix angle make this tool predictable in stable, rigid setups.
Compatible with HC-HSK Form A holders, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD tooling systems. The 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard CNC machining center end mill holders accepting that shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Verify holder runout with a dial indicator before cutting; excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Follow the machine builder and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for retention screws or collet nuts.
