The KENNAMETAL 6676438 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 36-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in high-speed and dry machining environments. Built on the H1TE series platform using a submicron carbide grade, this tool is suited for both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die operators select this end mill when surface finish and edge integrity matter in tight-tolerance work.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where high-performance cutting of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials is required. With a short flute length classification and a straight cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet and toolholder systems including HC-HSK Form A holders. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. It is well suited for mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general production milling in steel and stainless steel applications.
Compatible with HC-HSK Form A toolholders. Designed for use in CNC milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Straight cylindrical shank suits standard ER collets and other cylindrical-bore toolholding systems sized for 5/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with rotating cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before mounting or removing the tool. Verify holder bore concentricity and torque collet nuts to the toolholder specification before running. Follow the toolholder manufacturer runout and balance requirements, particularly at elevated spindle speeds used with carbide end mills.
