The KENNAMETAL 6676428 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the H1TE series specification, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 36-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures, making it effective in both roughing and finishing passes. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a standard-length flute and a straight-cylindrical shank, suited for use in CNC machining centers and conventional milling setups.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The submicron carbide grade and AlTiN coating make it a practical choice for job shops and production environments running difficult-to-machine alloys. It fits standard end mill toolholders with a 0.5 inch bore and is well-suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where corner geometry integrity is critical. Machinists in aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking will find this geometry appropriate for their work envelope.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as noted in the H1TE series application data.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety protocols. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on carbide end mills. Consult the applicable feeds and speeds data for the specific workpiece material and machine before engaging the cut.
