The KENNAMETAL 6676424 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling across a wide range of demanding workpiece materials. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted cuts. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining rigidity. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this tool suitable for dry or semi-dry machining. Machinists and tooling technicians install this end mill in CNC milling centers and manual mills for roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.5 inch diameter fits standard end mill toolholders. The 3.25 inch overall length provides adequate reach for common milling operations without sacrificing rigidity. It is a single-end tool from the KENNAMETAL H1TE series, built around a submicron carbide grade for edge retention in difficult alloys.
Compatible with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC and manual milling applications targeting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the recommended gauge depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut.
