The KENNAMETAL 6676422 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and a 1 inch length of cut, this tool delivers consistent edge strength and dimensional accuracy across a range of workpiece materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. At 3 inches overall length with a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard end mill toolholders used in CNC machining centers. The submicron carbide grade supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short-length geometry and normal pitch flute spacing keep the tool stable under aggressive feed conditions. The centercutting design allows plunge entry where required. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 36-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is well suited for tool and die work, aerospace component machining, and production milling where corner integrity and material hardness are primary concerns.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand cutting tools. Belongs to the KENNAMETAL H1TE series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool from the toolholder. Confirm runout is within specification after seating to avoid premature edge wear. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for set screw or collet retention.
