The KENNAMETAL 6676407 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in production machining environments. Built to the H1TE series specification, it features a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, aerospace, die-mold, and general manufacturing applications.
The 6676407 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its short flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders used on vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and CNC routers. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry where required. With a normal pitch and no chipbreaker or variable helix, this tool is optimized for stable, consistent cutting at programmed feed rates across a broad range of workpiece materials coded P, M, K, S, and H under ISO material classification.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material groups P, M, K, S, H). Part of the KENNAMETAL H1TE series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing the tool. Seat the 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention fastener to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can compromise dimensional accuracy.
