The KENNAMETAL 6441067 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XDLT series, designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN under manufacturer grade KCSM40, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert is square in shape, single-sided, and features four right-hand cutting edges with a positive rake geometry and a 15-degree relief angle. Corner radius is 0.031 inches (0.80 mm), and insert thickness is 0.219 inches (5.56 mm). The cutting edge is honed for consistent engagement and longer tool life in demanding milling operations.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general milling applications in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on steel and difficult-to-machine materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is compatible with the Kennametal 7792VXD12 cutter series. The D41 chip breaker geometry supports chip control across a range of depths of cut up to a maximum of 0.326 inches. Typical applications include production machining in aerospace, energy, and general metalworking environments where insert consistency and coating performance are critical.
Designed for use with the Kennametal 7792VXD12 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code: XDLT120508ERD41. Compatible with toolholders accepting the XDLT12 insert series. Intended for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces (material codes P, M, S).
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using the specified screw-holding method; ensure the clamping screw is properly seated and torqued per the cutter body manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the cutter pocket and seating surface for debris or damage before installing a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid edge chipping prior to use.
