The KENNAMETAL 6413213 is a six-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 1-1/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, this end mill is built for precision metal removal in tight-tolerance applications. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the AlTiN coating extends tool life by providing thermal resistance and surface hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. The KCPM15 material grade makes this tool well suited for high-speed and hard-material milling operations. It is single-end and right-hand cutting with a straight cylindrical shank, making it a direct fit for standard collet and end mill holders.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations for cutting ferrous and hardened alloy steels, stainless steel, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The extended reach and center-cutting capability allow it to be used for both plunge entries and side-wall profiling. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes in tool and die, aerospace component, and precision machining shop environments. The 6-flute geometry increases the number of active cutting edges, improving surface finish and enabling higher feed rates at appropriate chip-load settings.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide end mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic tool holders used in CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a complete stop and the machine locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping nut or set screw — do not over-torque.
