The KENNAMETAL 6413147 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. The 6413147 features a 3/4 inch milling diameter, a 4 inch length of cut, and an overall length of 6.25 inches with a matching 3/4 inch shank diameter. The four-flute, spiral flute geometry operates with a 38-degree helix angle and a variable index design that reduces harmonic vibration during cutting. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when machining ferrous alloys and hardened materials. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool in the KENNAMETAL HPHV series, installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling centers.
The 6413147 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its use in pocketing and contour operations. With no coolant-through capability, this tool is intended for flood coolant or air-blast applications at the spindle. Material grade KCPM15 is formulated for high wear resistance in these workpiece material categories: P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and H (hardened materials).
Designed for use in CNC milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials as stated by the manufacturer. Compatible with standard 3/4 inch diameter toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders. Refer to KENNAMETAL HPHV series application data for recommended speeds and feeds by workpiece material.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of burrs before seating the end mill. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping and before initiating a cutting program.
