The KENNAMETAL 6371112 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Identified by ISO number KTFST15500HPLM and manufacturer grade KCMS15, this drill features a 15.5 mm (0.6102 inch) cutting diameter and a 140-degree drill point angle. The solid carbide tip uses fine grain carbide material with an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, providing heat resistance and wear performance in stainless steel and similar alloys. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting consistent chip evacuation and thermal management during deep or continuous drilling cycles. It is intended for installation and use by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This replaceable tip drill is optimized for primary use in stainless steel workpiece materials (ISO material code M). The KTFS series design supports a range of drilling scenarios including inclined exit drilling, stacked plate drilling, and standard through-hole drilling. The HPL insert geometry and helical flute configuration with regular spiral and 2-flute, 2-margin construction make it well-suited for precision drilling in job shop and production machining environments where tool consistency and repeatability are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip for use in KTFS series drill bodies accepting T-seat inserts. Compatible tip size and geometry are specific to the KTFS series tooling platform.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians following the tool manufacturer's assembly instructions. Ensure the drill body and insert seat are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before performing any tip replacement or inspection. Verify proper clamp torque using the manufacturer-specified wrench - do not overtighten or substitute fasteners.
