The KENNAMETAL 6371072 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert identified by ISO number KTFST13000HPLM and manufactured to grade KCMS15. This solid carbide tip is designed for use in compatible KTFS-series drill bodies and delivers a 13mm (0.5118 inches) cutting diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle. The AlTiN coating is applied via PVD process, providing heat and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. The tip features a helical flute geometry with two flutes and two margins, through-coolant capability, and an HPL insert geometry. It is installed and serviced by machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC drilling operations.
This replaceable tip is optimized for drilling stainless steel and other M-grade workpiece materials. The KTFS series design supports applications including standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked plate drilling. The clamp-style insert holding method and P-seat size ensure secure positioning during high-feed operations. Functional length is 0.2559 inches, flute length is 6mm, and overall projection is 0.3638 inches. The fine grain carbide substrate and PVD AlTiN finish make this tip well suited for production environments where tool life and hole quality in difficult-to-machine materials are priorities.
Designed as a replaceable tip insert for KTFS-series drill bodies requiring a P-seat, 13mm cutting diameter tip. Compatible system series is KTFST as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the drill body spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before removing or installing the tip insert. Clean the insert seat thoroughly before seating the new tip to ensure proper clamping and runout. Verify clamp torque and seat engagement per the drill body manufacturer documentation before returning the tool to service.
